Best family big Mt. In the East. No one has a better product and by product I mean Snow! Sunapee's investment in snow farming and staff that can get it done is unmatched
Love the beach. Perfect for small kids. Get there early as it is very small and fills up quick. Adventure course is great. Paths 1-3 are pretty easy but #4 stranded my 10 year old son on a tough obstacle. The staff addressed it quickly and professionally. He was back on solid ground in minutes and wanting to go again.
This is a review of the 11 site campground at Mount Sunapee State Park. We stayed for two nights with our young children at site 4. The campground is remote, halfway up the mountain, accessed by a very rough, steep road. Signage for the campground is minimal. We had to ask the attendant on duty down at the beach how to find the campground entrance. While you can drive to the campsites, many are walk in, meaning that you have to carry your stuff up a foot path to your site. Plan accordingly and don't bring too much. We brought our bikes, which we didn't really need. Besides the campground loop, there isn't a good place for young kids to safely ride. The sites are private and the campground was very quiet while we were there. Everything was clean. The rangers were helpful and friendly. Next time we go, we'll leave the bikes at home, bring a folding wagon to transport our gear easily, and pack hiking boots, because the trails look great. Admission to the beach (a mile down the mountain) is waived if you're camping at the park, which is a good deal. We got there at 9:30 and stayed until 2:00. Mt. Sunapee is a beautiful park with a good campground for those who want to be surrounded by nature.
Wonderful wedding venue. Looking out over Lake Sunapee. Only downfall is if you don't like nights, have to take a chair lift to the top.
Decent beach. The water seems to be getting filled in with decaying plants. If you want a picnic table get there early. They fill up really quick.
